Wednesday 7th November 2018

Asaph Mwebaze will for the first time return to Luzira Prisons ground since leaving in August to join Onduuparaka Football Club.

This time round, he returns as a visitor to a place he used to call home for close to a decade and will be under the spot light as Maroons FC host Onduparaka FC.

Asked about if his return means anything, Mwebaze said that football is a game that involves change of address of work and he is therefore fully committed at Onduparaka FC.

“It is how our work is designed. This day you are at one club, the next day you are with another. Of course it is true I’m returning to face my former bosses but that does not count for now. All the commitment at making sure Onduaparaka FC wins.” He told this website.

Besides Mwebaze, players Abel Eturude and Richard Ayiko will also be facing a team they once played for. On the other hand Emmanuel Oringa and Rashid Agau currently at Maroons FC will also be facing their former team Onduparaka FC.

Maroons FC have had a sloppy start to the season and are currently bottom of the log with just two points in their opening two games.

Under new coach George ‘Best’ Nismbe who replaced Mwebaze, the Prison Warders have failed to find the rhythm they had last season.

Despite signing a couple of new players including Brian Majwega, Herman Wasswa, Rashid Agau and Yubu Bogere among others, the club has failed to set off.

New team Captain Ronald Orombi however is optimistic that the club will start winning soon.

“We have not been playing poorly in all the games but a few mistakes have cost us points. The coaches are working tirelessly to rectify the mistakes and even us as players, we are working hard to make sure we turn the fortunes.” He said.

Yubu Bogere, Seif Batte, Martin Mpuuga and goalkeeper Eric Dhaira are all doubtful for the game due to injuries.

Onduapraka FC on the other hand have had a fair start managing 11 points in the first six games and seven of those coming away from home.

The Caterpillars beat up on SC Villa 2-0, Kirinya Jinja SS 3-0 and drew goalless against Tooro United over the weekend.

The Arua based side 2-0 won in their last visit to Luzira with Caesar Okhuti bagging a brace.
