Ndejje University vs Kirinya Jinja, 4 PM
Match day nine of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League will continue on Tuesday with two games on the card.
Kirinya Jinja takes a trip to the Arena of visions to face Ndejje University Lions as URA play host to Tooro United in Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.
Ahead of the encounter in Luwero, Kirinya’s coach Charles Ayiekho revealed that his team is in the right shape to take maximum points.
“We have had enough preparations, about three weeks, we have rectified in areas where the team was still lacking,” Ayiekho told the Club media.
He highlighted that the team’s problems were the inability to put the ball at the back of the net, especially in their recent outing against Maroons that ended goalless.
Ayiekho explained: “We missed Joel Madondo, Isaac Isinde and I wasn’t also around, But the team is now in good shape.”
It should be noted that Isinde was with the National senior team, the Uganda Cranes during their Africa Cup of Nations preparations.
Madondo and coach Ayiekho missed the game due to their engagements with the Kobs team, which unfortunately got knocked out by South Sudan U23 team on aggregate.
The side will miss both Akol Godfrey (captain) and Kasonko George (assistant captain) who are still sidelined with injuries.
Ayiekho added: “This is not the right time to face Ndejje because they are in the red zone so they will play with their hearts out. However, if the boys put into practice what I have been teaching them, we will get the three points.”
Kirinya Jinja are 10th on the log with 10 points from eight games. Ndejje are third from the bottom with just six points.
Kirinya have won two games, Tooro and Nyamityobora, both coming on the road.
Ndejje on the other hand, have also won two games that is against Paidha and Mbarara, both coming at home (Arena of visions).
