Kirinya Jinja SS will go into Tuesday’s game against Maroons FC in pursuit of their first home win this season on their fourth attempt.

At Mighty Arena, their new home ground since shifting from Kyabazinga stadium where they hosted games last season has not witnessed victory, drawing twice(2-2 vs SC Villa and 2-2 vs Vipers SC) and a 3-0 loss to Onduparaka FC.

The much needed win will come at cost with the hosts missing several key starters either through injury or national team duty.

Star striker and current league top scorer Joel Madondo is currently on national team duty with the U23 team(The Kobs) and thus won’t be available.

Equally, experienced defender Isaac Isinde is also in camp with the Uganda Cranes as they prepare for the crunch encounter against Cape Verde slated for this Saturday.

These join skipper George Kasonko who sustained an injury in the game against Onduparaka FC plus his assistant Godfrey Akol who has been sidelined for some time.

In the absence of Madondo, Faisal Muwawu, Fred Amaku and Dan Sewava who returns from suspension will be tasked with the duty of searching for goals.

Coach Charles Ayieko is aware of the challenge that Maroons FC pose and coming into this game with confidence after picking their first win against Onduparaka FC last week.

” I think it will be a tough game because we are missing some of the key players and Maroons FC come after getting their first win but we are equally seeking for our first home win and I think that will be the target.” He said.

Maroons FC will hugely rely on the duo of Rashid Agau and Solomon Walusimbi who have scored six of the eight goals they have this season.

Kirinya Jinja SS occupy 10th position on the log with 9 points while the Prison Warders are 13th on five points.
