UPL: KCCA Edge Poor Villa In Five Goal Thriller

KCCA managed to snatch a victory off struggling SC Villa in StarTimes Uganda Premier League game played at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.

Despite going a goal down, the Garbage collectors managed to stage a comeback to win 3-2.

The hosts led with Albert Mugisa’s long range rocket in the 13th minute but their lead was short lived.

The side lost concentration at the back to give KCCA’s Julius Poloto space to head home a leveller in the 17th minute.

KCCA could later take control of the matter with Manco Kaweesa scoring into his own net but Bashir Mutanda levelled in the added minutes of the first stanza.

12 minutes into the restart, Jackson Nunda who came on for Lawrence Bukenya, headed in off his first touch to regain KCCA’s lead.

Villa Coach Basena brought on Mike Sserumaga and Edgar Luzige later on but his side couldn’t settle the score.


This is the fourth loss for Villa SC who remain second bottom on the log with three points.

The victory elevates KCCA FC to 15 points from seven league games.

What Next For Both Sides?

KCCA FC will return to league action on November 20 against Nyamityobora at Lugogo.

SC Villa will travel to Fort Portal to visit Tooro United on Matchday Eight – November 21.
