UPL: Kaddu, KCCA Too Good For Troubled Paidha

Tuesday, December 18

KCCA FC 3-0 Paidha BA

Patrick Kaddu’s first half hat-trick – the first for the 2018/19 season – was just enough as KCCA humbled Paidha Black Angles at StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo.

The victory sees KCCA return to winning ways after the 3-2 loss to Express FC at Wankulukulu in their previous last outing in the league.

The scoreline may not suggest what truly happened on the pitch as the hosts could have scored more than three in either half in what was a dominant performance.

Kaddu as an individual, missed chances as it was the same case for Muzamir Mutyaba, Allan Okello among others.

In a one way avenue game, the visitors who didn’t trouble KCCA’s back line however looked improved in the second half but couldn’t bring one back to consolidate their travelling fans.

The victory extends KCCA’s lead atop – Mike Mutebi’s charges have collected 27 points from 12 games. The Lugogo based side are four points above second placed Onduparaka and six ahead of Vipers in third.

Paidha who have won once, have collected only four points and the side are still rock bottom – The team that will soon return to Zombo are the main contenders for the drop.

Kaddu Scores First League Hat-trick

Kaddu got KCCA in the lead in the 15 minute from a header off Mustafa Kizza’s beautiful delivery.

The striker doubled the lead five minutes later after good build up from Muzamir Mutyaba and Allan Okello before he slotted home with a neat finish.

Kaddu missed two clear cut chances before sealing his hat-trick: He was denied by John Kulumba in the 37th minute before firing wide a minute later from Allan Okello’s assist.

He bagged home his third with a header, which seemed to have been cleared off the line, before the Linesman made it count.

In the second stanza, Muzamir Mutyaba hit the woodwork after Okello had missed from close range as the hosts continued continued to knock on the door.

Youngster Achai fired off his left foot but the shot stopper was equal to his effort.

Kaddu also missed from point blank range when he directed his effort over the bar off another delivery from Mustafa Kizza at the hour mark.

The best chance for the visitors fell to Rwothomio who was in a tight angle to shoot into the side net after a good assist from Jackson Nsubuga.

Nunda was off the target in the 70th minute, substitute Sserwadda was denied by Kulumba before Okello’s resultant effort was deflected for a corner.
