KCCA FC have scored the most number of goals in the league this season (16) making an average of two goals per game.
Ahead of the game against Maroons FC this Saturday, the Lugogo based side come high in confidence after a 6-1 comprehensive win against Nyamityobora FC a result that took them top of the table.
Mike Mutebi believes the result gives them confidence as they make a short trip to Luzira indicating being effective in front of goal.
“There is no doubt that we create the most goal scoring chances in the league but the concern has always been on our effectiveness. But when you score six goals in one game you go into the next one with confidence.” He said.
However, he expects a tough challenge from the Prison Warders who he says are one of the teams with an identity.
“Maroons FC is a good team despite the fact they have not been getting positive results recently. The core of that team has been together for long and have a defined way how they play. From the time I was there to Asaph Mwebaze and now George Nsimbe plus David Obua, the playing style has not changed even when they lose players.” Mutebi said in a pre-match press briefing.
Maroons FC were a boggy side to KCCA FC last season with the two league games ending in draws and Mutebi expects a close contest.
“They are a boggy team to KCCA FC and I expect them to pose a challenge. Players like Herman Wasswa who have vast experience will come to prove a point. Solomon Walusimbi, Rashid Agau, Ronald Kikonyogo and the rest are very good players.”
KCCA FC will be without Allan Okello and Saddam Juma who got injured in the game against Nyamityobora FC. Mutebi confirmed Isaac Kirabira will start the game, his first appearance this season after falling in the pecking order.
KCCA FC led the table on 18 points while Maroons FC is 12th on 6 points
