Bright Stars FC earned an easy victory against Ndejje University Football Club on Tuesday to move up to second place on the table.
A comprehensive 3-0 win saw Bright Stars move to 14 points, one behind current leaders KCCA FC who scrapped through to win 3-2 against SC Villa.
The Kawempe based side came into Tuesday’s game high in confidence after a 4-1 victory against Kirinya Jinja SS and replicated the similar performance to outwit Ndejje.
Dan Bilikwalira, Juma Ssebaduka and John Kokas Opejo scored a goal each to guide Fred Kajjoba’s team to their fourth win this season.
It should be noted that Bright Stars FC have now scored 13 goals in their opening seven games, more than any team in the division.
Nelson Ssenkatuka had the first attempt of the game but his ferocious effort from a free kick narrowly missed the target in the 20thminute.
Four minutes later, defender Bilikwalira opened the scores his first for the club since joining them on loan from Vipers SC at the start of this season.
Bright Stars FC became more rampant even after taking the lead and Ssebaduka headed home to double the visitor’s lead. He was as well scoring his first goal since joining them from Express FC where he played last season.
Second half substitute John Kokas Opejo who replaced Andrew Kaggwa at the hour mark stretched the lead for the efficient Stars in the 72nd minute.
Ssenkatuka almost got onto the score sheet deep into stoppage time but his strike ricocheted off the crossbar.
The loss leaves Ndejje University FC in 11thposition on six points.
