UPL: Fans Should Expect Entertaining Football From Police FC – Mubiru

Police FC head coach Abdallah Mubiru has urged fans to expect exciting and entertaining football from his side as they prepare for their first game of the 2019/2020 StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

The 2005 Uganda Premier League winners will host BUL FC at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso on Wednesday September 4th.

“Of course we are prepared for the game and the league as well, We want to out-compete our opponents in all areas because the league is competitive,” Mubiru said before adding.

Much as the league is on match day two, Police FC will play their first game of the league after missing out their opening game against Onduparaka due to their participation in East Africa Police Chiefs Organisation Corporation (EAPCO) games.

Due to this, they will start the season with negative three points after being docked three points and three goals by FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel.

As per the panel, the Kops did not turn up for the Star times Uganda Premier League match against Onduparaka FC on 30th August 2019 contrary to the FUFA Competition Rules and did not submit a written explanation within 48 hours to explain their absence.

However, Mubiru is firm that his side’s mission is to win games despite the fact that they started the season with negative points.

“Our target is to win, play well and entertain our fans who come to watch our games. The game is for 90 minutes and the win always come at the end of the game,” Mubiru further noted.

According to the Uganda Cranes interim head coach the game is beyond just winning, teams should also think about entertaining their fans who spend their valuable time watching these games.

“We want to bring in that excitement which is beyond three points because watching a game for 90 minutes is beyond just a win, fans have to get what they deserve and this should come from the way teams play.”

“Much as every team’s target is to win but the excitement created by the way teams play is also a key factor to attract more fans to watch the game,” he added.

Mubiru’s side enters tomorrow’s game looking for their first win against BUL FC since 2016 in March. Since then, both sides have met six times where BUL edged Police on five occasions and drew once.

Last season, BUL won both ties against Police FC home and away with a 2-1 score. Therefore, Police enters this game looking for nothing other than a win.
