Express FC Vs Nyamityobora FC, 4:30 PM
Express FC will be looking for nothing but victory when they take on Nyamityobora in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
The Club will play host to the Abanyakare at Betway Muteesa II Stadium this Friday in their last competitive game in 2018.
This has been a year for the club to forget – The team was on the blink of going down for the first time in their rich history.
The Red Eagles have won nine, drawn and lost as many in the league this year.
Against Nyamityobora FC, Express will be in pursuit of their fifth victory of the 2018-19 campaign.
It’s been a year for Express FC to forget, it has been highlighted by a poor spell that saw the club beat the drop on the last day of the 2017-18.
However, the taking over by new club Chairman Kiryowa Kiwanuka has brought positive vibes – The club has acquired Betway, Equity Bank among other sponsors this year. It has been a year of highs and lows for the Wankulukuku based side.
The club is under new coaching staff led by Coach Kefa Kisala and they are now tenth on the log, and at least a top six position can be achieved.
Kisala, as quoted by the club website, commented about Nyamityobora’s visit:
“It’s a tricky game! We are playing a team below us, a team fighting to go up with us it means it will be a difficult game and we are coming from a festive season which has a lot of disorganizations.
“We have managed to keep the boys and they have gone through it well to see that we win that game.”
Isaac Mutanga, Tony Odur, Robben Kabuye and Arthur Kigundu are set to miss out for the red Eagles.
Nyamityobora may not be a team that comes with huge threat but the fact that they hosted most of their league games recently at Wankulukuku, makes this game somehow tricky.
Much as Asaph Mwebaze’s charges are yet to win a way from home in the league, the team has scored in their last three league outings in a row. They also won away from home in the Uganda Cup when they beat up on East Land FC.
4 – The number of games Express has won, drawn and lost in the league this season (won 4, drawn 4 and lost 4).
14 – Express FC has scored 14 goals and conceded as many in the league this season.
1 – The number of games Express FC has lost at Wankulukuku this season. The lone defeat came against Onduparaka FC.
0 – The visitors are yet to win on the road. They have just one draw from six road trips in the league so far.
13 – The number of goals Nyamityobora has conceded in their away league games. Six coming against KCCA at Lugogo. Only Ndejje FC has shipped in more.
2 – The number of clean sheets Nyamityobora has kept in the league so far this season. They held URA to a goalless draw in Namboole before beating Ndejje 2-0 in Mbarara.
