Express FC vs Onduparaka FC, 4:00 PM
Express FC will be looking for their first victory against Onduparaka when the sides face off in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Saturday.
Express has lost twice and drawn as many, from their only four league meetings so far. The side is yet to pick a win over the Caterpillars.
In the 2016/17 season,
Express drew 1-1 at Wankulukuku before losing 1-2 in Arua in the second round.
In the 2017/18 campaign, Onduparaka picked a 2-1 win in Wankulukuku and the sides shared spoils in Arua.
“It’s a tricky game, Onduparaka isn’t an easy team because they have experienced players,” noted Express FC coach Kefa Kisala, as quoted by the club website.
“However, at the end of the day there are two teams and there’s something to fight for. We have prepared our players well and those who have been injured are back to fitness and their bodies are ready for the task so we are at home and we shall get positive results.”
Express’ midfielder John Revita has been cleared to play – If selected, he will be making his club debut. Tony Odur, Isaac Mutanga, Mathias Muwanga are also back and available for selection.
The club will miss the services of Arthur Kiggundu, Ruben Paul Kabuye, Nasir Mbabali and goalkeeper Tony Kyamera – The latter is still doing his UACE examinations at Buddo SS.
The Red Eagles are eighth on the log with 13 points from eight attempts. Express who has lost only one game, has managed to win three games and drawn on four occasions.
The visitors on the hand, are sixth on the table with 14 points.
The caterpillars come at Wankulukuku under the guidance of Simeon Masaba following Coach Asaph Mwebaze’s resignation. The gaffer has consequently joined Nyamityobora on a three year deal.
Onduparaka FC will welcome back captain Rashid Toha but the game comes so early for Solomon Okwalinga, Malish Jamal, Allan Busobozi and Adriko Gasper.
