The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) is poised to spend a whopping Shs. 526,720,00 to the 16 clubs featuring in the Uganda Premier League as COVID-19 grant.

This was approved from the FUFA Executive Committee that sat on Monday morning at the FUFA House, Mengo.

The relief package is part of the USD 500,000 Covid-19 relief package received by the country’s football governing body from FIFA.

Following the approval of the appropriation of the Relief grant, each UPL Club will receive Shs 32,920,000.

FUFA will also spend Shs 240m to the FUFA Big League clubs hence each will get Sh 15m. A total of Sh2M will be shared by each regional league team while Sh52m will be spent on the FUFA Secretariat.

Other FUFA competitions that will benefit from the fund are the Beach Soccer, Futsal Super League, Fourth division teams and the District Football Associations.

FUFA has said that the Executive Committee will reconvene soon to take a decision on the appropriation of Women Football Grant based on the Strategy submitted earlier to FIFA that is undergoing re-adjustment to suit the current circumstances.

FUFA has revealed that the amount will be transferred directly to the beneficiary’s bank account within the next 14 days.
