Nyamityobora 2-0 Ndejje University
Nyamityobora FC coach Asaph Mwebaze is confident that his side will beat the drop after guiding the team to the second win of the season.
Nyamityobora cruised past fellow relegation strugglers Ndejje University Lions in a StarTimes Uganda Premier League game played on Friday.
Charles Ssebutinde gave the hosts a lead in the 22nd minute before Alex Komakech scored a rebounding ball from the penalty at the half hour mark.
This, was Nyamityobora’s first win in their debut league game at Kakyeka Stadium, Mbarara. The club had previously hosted their games at Wankulukuku.
“I think being at home for the first time gave us comfortability and we controlled the game well with few mistakes,” Mwebaze told ChimpSports.
He added: “We are getting used to playing in the new formation and scoring in all games and that’s important. We have many games to beat the drop and also play a beautiful game.”
This was the Abanyakare’s second win of the campaign, the side’s first win was against Mbarara City (2-1) in a Derby played at Wankulukuku on October 24.
The victory however leaves Nyamityobora second from the bottom with seven points from a dozen number of games.
The University Lions, who suffered their eighth loss of the season, are a place above Nyamityobora with eight points.
