Sadat Anaku’s 9th-minute brilliant finish and Erisa Sekisambu’s header at the stroke of halftime was all KCCA FC needed to pick three points over a stubborn Kyetume FC side and move within touching distance of the league summit.
In the 9th minute, Magambo’s long ball found Anaku who weaved past Kyetume’s Steven Kagoda, found an angle and shot past custodian Mutakubwa Joel.
In the 20th minute, Anaku pulled a muscle while chasing down a long ball on the wing. He was withdrawn and replaced by midfielder Nicholas Kasozi who was fielded in a more advanced role.
Julius Poloto could have made it two for KCCA FC on 33 minutes but his effort from the left wing was parried over the crossbar by Mutakubwa.
With four minutes left to the end of the opening stanza, Gift Ali picked a loose ball in the midfield, took a touch and took a hit that Mutakubwa fumbled to save.
Sekisambu doubled KCCA FC’s lead with a header on the near post from a flawless Mustafa Kizza’s cross down the left-wing.
The win left KCCA FC second on the 16-team log with 41 points, two behind leaders Vipers SC.
KCCA FC travels to Luwero to face URA FC on Friday in their next league encounter while Vipers SC host Onduparaka FC on Sunday 2nd February 2020.
