Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has started patching up the Kabale-Kisoro road which has been in an appalling state.
The road was heavily damaged at Hakagyezi in Hamurwa Sub County in Rubanda district.
The road that connects Uganda to the Democratic Republic of Congo at Bunagana border and to Rwanda at Kyanika border had become impassable at this port due to the huge potholes that are filled with water.
Early this week, the road users accused UNRA of ignoring their please to have this part fixed.
The UNRA Spokesperson Allan Ssempebwa Kyobe told our reporter on Monday that the works to repair the road were to commence by the second week of November.
However, speaking to our reporter on Wednesday, Ssempebwa said they decided to start temporary works on the road after getting funds.
He said the works will include filling the deep potholes with marram and opening some filled up drainage lines on the road.
