Four people, including Zadock Tumuhimbise the Uganda National Teachers Union (UNATU) National Chairperson and Philbert Baguma the Secretary General on Monday were nearly killed in an accident after the car they were travelling in veered off the road.
The four were traveling in a Toyota Rav 4 registration number UAU 613 B, which failed to climb uphill.
The accident happened in Butebi Cell, Butanda sub county at around 2pm as the passengers were rushing to attend a church service at Nyamiryango Church of Uganda.
David Mutebwa, the head teacher of Buhara secondary school, who is the owner of the car says it failed to negotiate a corner on the hill and turned back before overturning several times.
Mutebwa says among the survivors was his son, one Tumuhimbise, who was critically injured and was rushed to Rugarama hospital for treatment.
Geoffrey Kahebwa, the Kabale district police commander says all the four are in stable condition.
