UK Ambassador Hails NRM

The British High Commissioner to Uganda Peter West has commended the ruling NRM Party and President Yoweri Museveni in particular for working hard to restore peace in the region.

“Uganda’s contribution in restoring peace in the region is remarkable. We are happy that the President is working hard to ensure that there is peace in the neighborhood, sildenafil ” said the High Commissioner.

He made the remarks this Thursday while meeting the NRM senior secretariat staff at the party headquarters in Kampala.

He was received at the Secretariat by the Deputy SG, Hon Richard Todwong who moved apologies for the Rt. Hon. SG Justine Kasule Lumumba currently out of the country.

Also in attendance were the Deputy National Treasurer Dr. Kenneth Omona, EC Commissioner Hon Jane Alisemera, the Director Finance & Administration Dr. Hassan Galiwango and the Legal Affairs Director Counsel Kihika.

The envoy was also quick to single out Uganda’s positive gesture in accommodating refugees which he said should be maintained.

On education he pledged more support towards the line ministry.


“We shall work closely with the First Lady to address issues that require special attention,” he revealed.

The diplomat, however, advised that the NRM government should focus more on school outcome other than school attendance.

The meeting discussed several key issues related to effective leadership and service delivery.

Hon Todwong told his guest that a lot had been achieved during the NRM leadership despite a few challenges.

Todwong said the party would continue guiding its government in putting resources into right directions.

He further disclosed that a tool to be used in monitoring government programs and evaluating the performance of ministries had been developed.

The High Commissioner said he was impressed with the discussions and pledged to find other time to share more ideas.
