Uganda’s Covid-19 Death Toll Rises to 82 with 1 New Fatality

The Ministry of Health has on Monday confirmed 157 new COVID-19 cases in Uganda bringing the cumulative total number of confirmed infections in the country to 8,965.

The new cases include 141 contacts and alerts, 16 returnees.

1 new fatality has been recorded from Kumi District.

“Results from COVID-19 tests done on 4th October 2020; 157 new COVID-19 cases confirmed. The cumulative confirmed cases of Ugandans are now 8,965,” the Health Ministry announced.

These include cases include; 25 from Amuru, 22 from Kampala, 12 from Abim, 13 from Jinja, 14 from Kaabong, 9 from Kotido, 7 from Hoima, 8 from Kumi, 7 from Napak, 3 from Amuria, 5 from Nakapiripiriti, 3 from Serere, 4 from Katakwi, 2 from Rakai, 1 from Buvuma, 1 from Iganga, 1 from Kaliro, 1 from Kikuube, 1 from Masindi, 1 from Nabilatuk and 1 from Kalaki.

Of the 16 returnees who tested positive for COVID-19, 13 arrived from Saudi Arabia, and 3 from Jordan.

Currently, Uganda has a cumulative total of 8,965 COVID-19 confirmed cases, 5,078 recoveries and 82 fatalities.
