Ugandan defender Jordan Obita has completed his move to England League One club Oxford United, signing a one-year contract.
The 26-year old left back-cum winger joins Oxford United as a free agent having been released by England Championship side Reading.
He had been training with the club for over two weeks before seeing the move through and will feature for the club until 2020/21 season end.
“I grew up just around the corner and there’s always been something within me that I want to come and play for the club,” Obita told the Oxford Mail.
He went on to applaud the club chairman who had openly expressed interest in his services and believes will help the club progress.
“I’ve known the chairman for four or five years now. He gave me loads of phone calls over the last couple of months, showing his eagerness to bring me in. That’s what I want right now, people who want me and believe in me to try to progress and do well here, for myself and the club,” he added.
The Reading Youth Academy graduate also previously featured for Barnet, Gillingham, Portsmouth and Oldham Athletic.
