Uganda U-17 Head Coach Tests Positive for Coronavirus

The vastly experienced Uganda U-17 head coach Ayub Khalifa has confirmed testing positive for Coronavirus.

The gaffer via the official FUFA website released a statement concerning his health status after the mass testing exercise held this week prior to the team’s residential camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisaasi.

“I have on Thursday 8th October 2020 tested positive for Covid-19. I am now in self-isolation from the camp for a period as guided by the health officials for better medication and recovery,” Khalifa said.

“While I am away, I will help conduct some sessions with my technical team for the players online as we continue with preparations for the FIFA U17 World cup Qualifier with Cameroon,” he added.

Khalifa recently summoned 30-man squad in preparation for the forthcoming FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers double header tie against Cameroon.

The team has since been residing at the Islamic University in Uganda-Kabojja female campus, will now camp in Kisaasi.
