Uganda U-17 Girls Start Preparations for Cameroon Double Header

The Uganda U-17 Girls National football team has started preparations for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup final qualification round against Cameroon.

The squad of 30 players conducted two training sessions on Friday (morning and evening) at the StarTimes stadium, Lugogo.

Currently, the team is under the stewardship of coaches Hadijja Namuyanja, Olive Mbekeka (fitness) and James Magala (goalkeeper) while head coach Ayub Khalifa is still in isolation having tested positive for COVID-19.

Uganda is set to host the first leg fixture on October 31st with the return leg scheduled for mid November in Cameroon.

The winner on aggregate will together with two other countries represent Africa at the finals in India between February and March in 2021.
