Uganda senior football team, the Uganda Cranes, has risen four places, from 78th to 74th in the new FIFA rankings released on Thursday in Zurich, Switzerland.
The rise follows Uganda’s good display in the month of March, where the country picked a win and a draw in it’s international engagements.
Uganda defeated Sao Tome and Principe 3-1 before registering a draw against Malawi, all games played at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
Neighbours Kenya dropped eight places to 113th but they remain the closest to Uganda with Rwanda (123rd), Sudan (126th), Tanzania (137th), Ethiopia (14tth) and Burundi (145th) loosely following on.
World Champions Germany remained at the summit, closely followed by Brazil as Belgium made its way into the top five.
Tunisia, Senegal, Congo DR, Morocco and Egypt are the top five in Africa.
