Express FC 2-0 UPDF FC
Express FC finally jumped out of relegation zone following a victory against UPDF FC in a league game played on Tuesday at Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
Michael Birungi was on score sheet with Zimula Jalilu scoring the other to seal a comfortable 2-0 victory in front of a large home crowd.
The result has propelled the Red Eagles way up to 12th as the club has accumulated 25 points from 24 league games.
Coming into this game at the back of a hard fought victory against Mbarara FC, Express FC Shafic Bisaso had vowed to use that 1-0 victory as a motivation to boost his side, and going by the end result, the magic worked.
Welcoming back Birungi from a short layoff, the veteran forward went directly into the starting lineup to partner Alfred Leku at the twin.
His influence was earlier felt; he got the Red Eagles in a deserved lead when he rebounded from Ssemujju’s ball that had ricocheted from the post.
Express FC could later double their lead at the half hour mark courtesy of Jalilu to put the game out of the visitor’s reach before halftime
