Soana vs Proline FC
Proline FC will successfully jump out of the relegation zone if they pick three points in a league game against Soana at Kavumba Recreation on Tuesday.
Proline who are 15th on the log with just 23 points; are yet to win an away game this season, a record they share with Bright stars and Mbarara.
The last time these sides met, Proline FC won 2-0 at Lugogo, a win that ended a four game loosing streak against Proline.
Soana FC are winless in their last three games – lost to sc villa and masavu, drew Bright Stars.
News from Kavumba have it that team Captain Timothy ‘Timo’ Musinguzi, Willy Kavuma and Ayub Kiiza are set to miss out.
Kavuma has been a vital figure in the squad, his header against Express (1-0) and the lone strike against UPDF (1-0) all in November last year were enough to give Soana maximum points at Kavumba.
Isaac Owori, Allan Agaku, Sam Tiyo and Savio Kabugo have been sidelined with injuries as Joseph Mandela and Sula Matovu are serving a one match suspension.
What the Managers say:
Soana’s Assistant David Mutono:
It’s a game we are prepared for, players are in the right shape, We just need to work as a team and also win as Soana.”
Proline FC’s Head Coach Mujib Kasule:
Soana is a hard side to face home and they will be more tough against us after failing to win in their last two games but we are ready and we hope that we can get our first away win this season”
League stats you need to know:
Together with Express FC , Proline have lost the most number of games (13) in the league this season, last season, they lost only seven games.
Proline FC’s recent 3-1 win over Police at Lugogo ended the club’s 10 unbeaten run.
The club has only scored one goal in their last five away games.
Analysis: Soana needs determination as Proline FC will need prayers
Soana, who are 11th on the table with 28 points, may not have put up their best performances of recent – They have only one win (against BUL FC) in their recent five league games but the fact that they are just three points above the red zone needs no reminder of how risky it will be if they lose this evening.
Six of their seven wins this season have come at Kavumba (home ground) and only Villa, Vipers and KCCA FC are the only three teams that have picked three points at Soana’s fortress in the league this season.
It shows how good they can be at home if they put in the required efforts, they host a side that is yet to win away from home.
The visitors who are joint last at the bottom, will have to play each game like a final if they are to stay in the league, however, a trip to Soana will not be a piece of a cake.
