Uganda Kickboxing Federation (UKF) will finally hold it’s long awaited 2020 elective congress on Saturday 5th December at Hyde Park located in Soroti district.
The congress comes almost a year since the federation last staged an activity following a petition by Malik Kaliisa-led rival faction against the ruling executive (led by Patrick Luyoza and Maj. Richard Mpangire) which put business at a standstill.
The 2020 elective congress was initially slated for February this year, however, was stalled by the continued court injunctions
It was until the 29th of September this year, that the Nakawa Court magistrate dismissed the suit by Kariisa’s faction as Luyooza was declared the legitimate president for the Federation.
Pursuant to article 11 and 12 of UKF constitution, the different clubs are requested to send two registered delegates to represent their respective clubs to the extraordinary general assembly.
According to the circular seen by ChimpReports, no new names shall be introduced without the due constitutional process of electing delegates to the assembly.
Four major activities; the election of leaders of all elective positions, constitutional review and amendments, approval of budget and ratification of new national administration structures created for the growth of the sport, will be key on the agenda.
Patrick Luyooza has been the interim president of Uganda Kickboxing Federation since 2018 after replacing the late Hassan Ssekirime.
