Kisoro district leaders on Friday afternoon handed over to Rwandan authorities the body of a 23-year-old Rwandan national, who was killed at Club De Zone in Kisoro Municipality.
Mukiza, who hails from Nyabihu – Mukamira in Rwanda had been working at the said bar as an attendant.
He was allegedly hit with a hammer on the head by a colleague identified as Kazungu Edson, who is also a Rwandan following a misunderstanding.
At the handover of the body, the ambulance and coffin were first sanitized by the Rwandan health team who were in personal protective gear.
The body was handed over to the Rwandan authorities at Cyanika border by Erasmus Sanyu, the Chahi LC3 chairperson.
Sanyu regretted the death of Mukiza, describing him as a decent young man who had lived peacefully ever since he moved to Uganda.
He said that police were still hunting for the killer who fled the scene after the incident.
Meanwhile, three people have since been arrested to help with the investigations.
The Rwandan officials asked Uganda to continue sharing information with Rwanda about the person who killed Mukiza.
