Uganda Cup: Vipers SC Expected to Ring Changes Ahead of Plascon Game

Vipers Sports Club will face FUFA Big League Kansai Plascon in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32 on Tuesday at St. Mary’s stadium.

The Venoms bearing in mind that the game comes ahead of their trip to Tunisia to face CS Sfaxien in the return leg of the Total CAF Confederation Cup.

Therefore, they will use the Uganda Cup game as a precursor before their crucial encounter against the Tunisian outfit.

It is thus expected that Vipers SC interim head coach Michael Ouma Nam will ring changes in the team and many of the players that have been on the fringes expected to feature against Kansai Plascon.

Tom Masiko, Rahmat Ssenfuka, Aggrey Madoi and new signing are expected to start.

Youngsters Bobos Byaruhanga(promoted from the junior team) and Ibrahim ‘Sekedi’ Thembo signed from Buddo SS are likely to make their debut for the senior team on Tuesday.


On the other hand, Kansai Plascon under coach Angelo Lonyesi will seek to upset last season’s runners up in their own backyard.

It should be noted that the first game, the first game Vipers SC lost at St. Mary’s stadium was a Uganda Cup game against Paidha Black Angels two years ago.

Vipers SC and Kansai Plascon faced off last season in the same competition at the quarterfinals with the Venoms winning 1-0 in Mukono courtesy of Dan Sserunkuma’s lone strike.
