Uganda Cup: Sweet Revenge as Express Eliminate Police FC

Uganda Cup joint record champions(ten times) Express FC progressed to the quarterfinals on Monday by overcoming Police FC.

It was a time for the Ree Eagles to pay for the 2-0 loss to the same opponents two weeks ago, a result that led to the sacking of coach Kefa Kisala.

Normal time ended goalless but Express FC proved effective in the penalty shootout to win the game 4-1.

Tony Odur, Disan Galiwango, Michael Birungi and Lawrence Kigonya all converted their kicks from the spot while only Ruben Kimera scored for the visitors.

This was the third game for new coach George Ssimwogerere to take charge. He lost his first game 1-0 to BUL FC before winning 2-0 against Nyamityobora FC in Mbarara last week.

Express FC got a walkover against Paidha Black Angels FC at the round of 64. They eliminated Water FC winning the game 2-1.
