KJT vs SC Villa

Startimes Stadium

Kampala Junior Team (KJT) have had a fairytale run in this year’s Uganda Cup picking good results and knocking out giant teams.

The team will on Saturday evening look to extend their Cinderella Story as they play host to the  SC Villa in the Stanbic Uganda Cup quarterfinal game at StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.

The fixture was earlier scheduled to be played at Villa Park a ground best known by both sides but FUFA dictated the ground was not good enough to host a game of such magnitude.

Despite playing in the fourth tier, KJT are unfazed about playing a top team in SC Villa and have belief that they can shock SC Villa.

While speaking to the media on Thursday morning at Kati Kati in Kampala, KJT Head coach Abubakar Sseguya sounded very confident:

This is the moment to show that our previous results in this journey of the Stanbic Uganda Cup were by hard work.

We are ready to eliminate Villa like we did against URA and BUL. My players are ready for this tie and they are already aware of what it means to play such a big team.”

SC Villa Not Taking Anything For Granted:

The visitors are not taking their opponents for granted, according to coach Wasswa Bossa.

KJT is a good side with young and talented players but we are not taking anything for granted because our focus as a club is on winning this cup.”

Despite being on the league summit, SC Villa suffered a set back when they lost to Vipers in Masaka earlier this week and the club will try to return to winning ways.

The nine time Uganda Cup winners eliminated Hope Doves, Bright Stars and Ndejje University to reach this stage without conceeding a goal.

KJT Cup Run:

Soana Young 0-1 KJT
Spartans 1-1 KJT (won 2-4 on penalties)

Round of 64
