Uganda Cup: KCCA FC Start Title Defence in High Gear

Stanbic Uganda Cup
Round of 64
KCCA FC 8-2 Amuka Bright Stars
Vipers SC vs Rushekere FC( Rushekere FC didn’t show up)

KCCA FC began their title defence in scintillating mode easing past FUFA Big League side Amuka Bright Stars FC.

It was a satisfying gift for KCCA FC fans on boxing day with their team registering an 8-2 result to advance to the next stage.

Mike Mutyaba scored a hat trick, Allan Okello and Steven Sserwadda grabbed a brace apiece while second half substitute Julius Poloto who was returning from injury also got the goals for KCCA FC.

On the other hand, Amuka got their consolation goals through Christopher Kirya and Bronson Nsubuga.

It was a one sided game from onset with KCCA FC finding no trouble to dispatch the visitors who seemed uncomfortable playing on the artificial artificial turf.

The home side made a couple of changes to the team with most of the players that have been on the fringes getting playing time.

Jamil Malyamungu started in goal while Bernard Muwanga, Nicholas Kasozi, Mike Mutyaba and Herbert Achaye all starting the game.

Sserwadda opened the scores as early as the 13th minute with an easy tap in before Mutyaba doubled the lead in similar fashion with Okello being the creator in three of the five half goals.

Okello took matters into his own hands in the second half grabbing a brace before Poloto put the icing on the cake.

Despite improving in the second stanza and scoring through Kirya and Nsubuga, the scoreline was too huge for Amuka Bright Stars to chase.

KCCA FC now advance to round of 32. The other game between Vipers SC and Rushekere FC from Fort Portal was not played with the latter not showing up.
