Uganda Cubs Depart For Burundi Ahead Of U17 CECAFA Championship

Uganda will be one of the teams that will play at this year’s edition of the U17 Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations(CECAFA) championship in Burundi.

A contingent of 20 years and 8 officials have on Thursday departed for neighboring Burundi where the tournament will be staged between 14th- 28th April 2018.

The team named by head coach Peter Onen includes three goalkeepers, four defenders, seven midfielders and six forwards.

Vipers Junior Team have the lion’s share representation with six players on the final team.

The Cubs are in group B alongside Tanzania, Zanzibar and Sudan.

Uganda will kick start the tournament against Tanzania on 15tg April and thereafter play Sudan on 18th before summing up the group against Zanzibar on 22nd April.
