There was little time for the Cranes to celebrate after sealing qualification to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday. The team beat Cape Verde 1-0 at Mandela National stadium.
On Sunday morning, the Cranes embarked on a journey to Nigeria ahead of an international friendly game slated for Tuesday.
Desabre released a squad of 18 players with some of the players rested and not making the trip to West Africa.
Among these include, captain Dennis Onyango, Murushid Jjuko, Emmanuel Okwi and Joseph Ochaya, Edrisa Lubega and Farouk Miya.
This therefore means that Hassan Wasswa will take on the mantle as captain for the team in the friendly game.
The last time Uganda faced Nigeria was in a friendly game in 2015 and the Cranes won the game 1-0 courtesy of Farouk Miya.
