Uganda at 58: Government to Hold Scientific Independence Celebrations, Online Festival

Government has announced that this year’s Independence Day celebration will be organised scientifically in order to avoid crowding dues to Covid19.

This was revealed by the Minister of Information and National Guidance Hon. Judith Nabakooba on Sunday.

Uganda’s 58th independence she said, will  be celebrated under the theme Uganda’s steady progress towards economic take off and self-sustaining economic growth.

According to Minister Nabakooba, the main event will be held at State House Entebbe.

“Later in the day, a group of artists have organised an online music show on the same day starting at 8pm,” she said.

“The show will have up to 40 different artists presenting to us about love, peace and unity as a country. This message of peace is crucial for us especially during this time of national elections,” she added.

The Minister called upon Ugandans to spare internet data in order to be able to follow the online performance.

The celebrations and address by the President shall be broadcast live by different TV stations.
