A rather mysterious trip by Journalists to Muyenga on Tuesday afternoon culminated into a fun-filled treat by Uganda Waragi.
While there, the UG Mix Maestro campaign was launched to cater for the ever growing number of Deejays.
Roy Tumwizere, the Uganda Waragi Brand Manager affirmed that the UG Mix Maestro would serve to recognize and celebrate exceptional local talent in deejaying.
“The Spirit of Uganda celebrates all things Ugandan and our unique heritage. Music is a huge part of how we express ourselves as a people and we would like to give deejaying a platform to be recognized and celebrated,” he said.
The award ceremony, which will see spinners across the country battle it out for the top spot, will also serve to unite Deejays.
It will feature a number of activities like bar activations, in-store special promotional offers, house parties and regional tours that will include deejay battles.
The campaign, according to organizers, will climax into a grand finale where deejays in various categories will be crowned.
Some of the cateogories include; Best Male/Female Battle DJ, Rising Star Award, TV DJ of the Year, Radio DJ of the Year, Events DJ of the Year, Club DJ of the Year, Gospel DJ of the Year and Outstanding Achievement Award.
Contenders will be judged by fellow but established Deejays; Liven Peeters (DJ Rox), Adero Marianne (DJ Maryjo) and Walye Seth Ciza (DJ Ciza).
