UFL: Nkumba Runs Riot Against Muni

Pepsi University Football League | Match day 2

Nkumba University 4-0 Muni University

Kiberu Derrick, Abaho Israel, Nsereko Jamaldin and Ozima Sadique were all on target in Nkumba University’s 4-0 goal fest against Muni on Friday.

Both teams put up a subdued start with Muni University being resilient but their strength lasted for only 42 minutes.

Kiberu Derrick fired Nkumba University in the lead two minutes to the break with a powerful header on the near post with David Toko grabbing an assist.

Kiberu failed to double his side’s lead when he ran through, one on one with the keeper but failed to keep his shot low.

On the 70th minute, Abaho Israel doubled Nkumba’s lead with a stunning shot from the edge of the 18-yard box, past the Muni goalkeeper, Ahmed Kibampawe.

Three minutes later, Nsereko Jamaldin dribbled past the Kibampawe to net the 3rd goal of the match.

Eleven minutes to time, goalkeeper Kibampawe was in this of the action again this time with a timely save by tipping Mukalazi’s shot over the bar.

In the 84th minute, second half substitute Ozima Sadique put the last nail in the coffin as his close shot left Kibampawe helpless.

Nkumba University advance to four points in the 2nd position, two shy of group E leaders, Bugema University.

Nkumba played out to a goalless draw with Gulu University in their opening fixtures of the 2019-2020 campaign.

Muni University having been subjected to the second defeat this season remains pointless after two games sitting at the bottom.

They lost the first game 1-2 at home against table leaders, Bugema University.

Today marks the end of match day 2 with Uganda Martyrs University hosting Kampala University at Nkozi in a group C affair.
