Pepsi University Football League
University of Kisubi 0-4 Kyambogo University
Odyek Daniel, Tugume Teanan, Sekidde Robert and Nabaasa Emma where all on target as Kyambogo University condemned University of Kisubi (UniK) 0-4 in their own backyard on Friday afternoon.
Two goals in either half saw Kyambogo complete the riot over debutants UniK who didn’t have their suspended coach Allan Kabonge on the touchline at Kisubi.
Odyek Daniel put Kyambogo in the lead after 25 minutes through a well curled free kick that left the UniK goalkeeper, Bogere Stanley beaten.
With a minute left to the break, Kyambogo doubled their lead through a powerful header off Tugume Teanan that went past helpless Stanley.
After 70 minutes of play, Bogere was called into action again as he pulled out a finger-tip save on the near post to deny another scoring chance for UniK off Keith Katamba.
Eight minutes later, Sekidde Robert added his name to the score sheet with a quick thinking finishing past shot-stopper Stanley.
In the 89th minute, Nabaasa Emma iced the cake when he met Tugume’s teasing cross in the area and tapped in for the finish.
The result sees Kyambogo dent UniK’s hopes of advancing to the knockout stages, as it is their third consecutive defeat.
Kyambogo’s victory put them on top of group A with six points after three games, leapfrogging Kabale University that has a game in hand.
The University Football League resumes today as Kampala University welcomes Busitema in a group C affair.
