Uganda Christian University (UCU) Lady Cardinals’ head coach Frank Peter Ssebulime believes his team will improve in performance.
Despite collecting four points in their opening two games, Ssebulime is not satisfied with the performance of the team.
” We are not playing at the level that we want. The start of the season is always tough because teams are still fresh and play cautiously but I believe, we shall improve in the next games,” Said Ssebulime after a one all draw against Kampala Queens on Saturday.
The coach stated that his team has been ravaged with the numerous injuries with several players sidelined.
” We suffered many injuries when playing in the Independence Cup and some of the players are out injured and that’s why we only had three substitutes on bench. ” He said.
Some of the players out injured include Adams Kemigisa, Esther Kadondi, Colline Ahumuza and Joan Kwagala among others.
Sharon Apon who is naturally a forward was employed as a makeshift centre back in the game against Kampala Queens while skipper Maureen Kinavudori who is also a striker played as a central midfielder.
UCU Lady Cardinals began their season with a 1-0 win against Isra Soccer Academy before drawing 1-1 against Kampala Queens.
