Uganda Communications Commission yesterday kicked off a week long training of film makers in the South Western Kabale District.
The training which is being done in partnership with Film Club Uganda is hoped to provide hands on skills in the areas of Directing, Sound, Script writing and Cinematography.
UCC revealed on social media that the training included workshops conducted at Little Ritz hotel in Kabale and hands on practicals at Lake Bunyonyi with two films shoot.
The films are expected to be screened at the Uganda Film Festival Award Gala Night in Kampala.
“The training and skilling featured areas that Uganda Film Festival judges have highlighted as needing improvement to uplift Ugandan film including; Lighting and Cinematography conducted by Tolbert Baguma the CEO of Teez studies with 10 years of experience in Cinematography and lights making,” UCC announced.
“Sound and design for film training was conducted by Shantos Ssekiito bringing over 8 years of experience working with big picture projects like Queen of Katwe, 27guns, Yati Madit and other big movie projects in Kenyan like women of Obilo and the 24 series”
Other experts that conducted the training included Denis Agaba, an expert at creative writing for film, TV drama Series, and Billboard Concepts.
