Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) will Friday 21 February host the inaugural Cyber Stars of Uganda competition.
The Cyber stars competition, which will be held at UCC House in Bugolobi, is anticipated to target and engage over 500 university students aged between 18-24 years.
Ibrahim Bbosa, UCC Spokesperson, highlights that the competition is one of the Commission’s effort and plan to develop different solutions which will help strengthen cyber security in different domains.
“The Cyber stars competition is one of UCC’s commitments to strengthen cyber security in different domains including; Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing, Digital Forensics and Computer Network Defense among others.”
According to Bbosa, the competition is aimed at building a culture of cyber awareness amongst Ugandans, reducing the human capacity gap in the cyber security field and enhancing national expertise in cyber security operations among others.
