Uganda continues to benefit from collaborations with ITU – a United Nations specialized agency for information and communication technologies – ICTs.

With its global membership, ITU brings the benefits of modern communication technologies to people everywhere in an efficient, safe, easy and affordable manner.
The membership benefits include interaction and engagement with top decision makers in the ICT sector, enabling UCC to participate in influencing technical and policy decisions in the global ICT sector.
The regulatory body also benefits from national visibility and positioning for the ICT sector, industry leadership and organizations; and first hand access to information on funding opportunities for various ICT initiatives and projects which would be beneficial to Uganda.
Uganda’s technocrats interact with global ICT industry experts resulting into better policy, regulatory and technical capacity for Uganda’s ICT sector.
The council association also gives Uganda the opportunity to influence decisions, share your message, shape policy and strategy and also an insight and understanding of key industry trends and developments.
Among other many achievements and key initiatives undertaken in the last years, UCC has been involved in capacity building of local content developers and exhibitors, especially in the film industry, market definition, band significant market power assessment for telecommunications and broadcasting and determining price comparative websites for comparative information.
The ICT symposium will feature distinguished panelists from different ICT backgrounds.
