UBTEB Releases Guideline for Nov/December Exams

Uganda Business and Technical Examination Board (UBTEB) has announced dates for the registration of the November and December exams for business, technical, vocational and specialised studies around the country.

According to a statement released by the executive secretary, CPA Onesmus Oyesigye, registration for the Nov/Dec 2019 UBTEB examinations series shall start on 23rd September, 2019 to 30th October 2019.

He urged heads of institutions to start collection of the registration fees charged by UBTEB.

As a way of ensuring efficiency in registration processes, he said, all candidates’ registration shall be done online using the access portal provided by the Board apart from re-takers of 2011 to 2017,” part of the statement says

UBTEB is mandated by Government of Uganda to streamline, regulate, coordinate and conduct credible national examinations and award Certificates and Diplomas in the Business, Technical, Vocational and specialized Education and training in Uganda.

In pursuit of the above mandate, the Board works in close collaboration with the Heads of Training Institutions and Ministry of Education & Sports in issuing the registration circulars for the respective examinations series of May/June and November/December in accordance with the stipulated curricula for academic programmes. Accordingly, the circular stipulates the registration dates, guidelines and registration fees to be paid by each candidate in each category of the programmes.


According to the statement, candidates that have not successfully completed their programmes for the period 2011 to 2013 will also be given a last chance to register for their pending respective examination papers to be offered only during the November/December 2019 examinations series.


The registration fees vary depending on the course and the level of education ie diplomas certificates

“The Board continues to appeal to all heads of training institutions to observe the curriculum guidelines on real life projects and Continuous Assessment processes approved by National Curriculum Development Centre and/or by the National Council for Higher Education”

“Furthermore, the Board wishes all heads of training institutions, candidates and parents a successful registration period. All candidates are free to confirm the status of their registration after submission to UBTEB Secretariat,” statement concludes
