Today, the Examinations body the Uganda National Examinations Board has released examinations results of Uganda advanced certificate of Education (UACE) 2019 at the office of the Prime Minister in Kampala.
The UNEB Executive Secretary Dan Odong announced that the examination of 126 candidates have been withheld.
“Honourable minister, the Board in accordance with section 4(3) of UNEB Act, Cap 137 has withheld results of 126 Candidates (0.12%) of total Candidature that sat from 26 centres,” he said.
“The most common forms of examination breaches have been external assistance, substitution of scripts, smuggling of unauthorized material into examination room and impersonation. Principal mathematics, biology and chemistry were the subjects mainly affected,” said Odongo.
The Examinations were done between 11th November and 2nd December 2019.
Female candidates performed better than males at the principal level pass (A-E) in Arts, humanities, mathematics, physics, and Agriculture. Male Candidates were better in chemistry, biology, Art and General Paper.
The UNEB Executive Secretary Dan Odong said that whereas mathematics physics, chemistry and biology are compulsory at UCE level, the number of students both male and female who opt for combinations at UACE with above subjects is very low.
