Busoga East Regional Police is investigating an accident that happened Thursday morning in which two police officers died.
The deceased officers died together with a suspect whom they were escorting to a scene for investigations.
This accident happened at Magamaga Trading Center along Iganga – Jinja Highway.
According to Police, the accident involved motor vehicle registration number UBF 837K a premio, silver in colour which was being driven by a yet to be identified man.
It is said that the premio had a head on collision with a trailer truck number KCQ 638C /ZC 738 before side brushing with a Police vehicle number UP 7483 in which the police and suspect were travelling in.
ASP James Mubi, the Busoga East police spokesperson identified the three people who died on spot as D/ AIP Mawa Emmanuel attached to General Crime at CID headquarters, D / Sgt Magara Dick from General Crime CID headquarters and Wadambwa Phillip, a suspect who was being escorted.
“The bodies have been conveyed to Jinja Hospital mortuary for postmortem as inquiries are still underway to establish the cause of the accident,” he said
