Sympathizers of jailed former Works Minister Abraham Byandala yesterday evening staged a demonstration in Luweero town demanding his release from Luzira prison where he was sent on remand for two weeks.
Two arrests were made in this matter.
Byandala hails from Katikamu in the same district.
The Luwero district police commander Erau Higwenyi confirmed that they had arrested Sarah Namuyanja, prescription price http://clothesthatwork.org/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/deprecated/tribeical.php Byandala’s secretary and Samuel Sserunjjoji the Katikamu chairperson in connection to the demonstration.
The crowd that bore placards with words reading ‘releases our man’ was dispersed with teargas when it turned rowdy.
Lamech Kigozi the region’s police spokesperson revealed that Namuyanja and Sserunjjoji were later released with no charges.
Byandala was arrested on Tuesday 28th July 2015 following investigations by the Office of the Inspectorate General of Government (IGG) over his alleged role in the Mukono-Kyetume-Katosi/Kisoga-Nyenga Road saga where Government lost billions of shillings.
