Police in Nansana arrested two men for assaulting and robbing a loans officer working with a non-profit organisation called BRAC of 3.3 million shillings.
According to a police statement, Ms. Olivia Nakayondo a loans officer at BRAC offices in Kyebando, Nansana was early this month attacked and in the process she lost her hand-bag that contained money she had collected from clients.
Police said the suspects, all men, were armed with an iron bars and ridding on a motorcycle registration number UEN 150V around areas of Bujjuko, Kawooko.
It is said that the victim alerted police in the area who chased the suspect, conducted searches in nearby places and found the motorcycle that had been used in the robbery.
The rider of the motorcycle later revealed the whereabouts of his colleagues in crime, said police.
The suspected robbers under custody were identified as Cheema Twaha, 28, and Alex Mpakanyike, 33. The duo will be charged of aggravated robbery and assault.
The suspects are currently detained at Nansana Police Station vide CRB 360/2018.
