Minister of defence Adolf Mwesige has this morning visited the scene where former minister of security retired Lt.Gen Henry Tumukunde was arrested.
The premises which house Tumukunde’s private offices located at Impala Avenue in Kololo were cordoned off Thursday night by security agencies and are being treated as a crime scene.
Police in a statement said that the premises shall be searched for possible additional evidences in regard to the case he was arrested for.
It has been established that the search will be conducted in the presence of various security agencies including the defence minister who will oversee the process.
However, security has blocked journalists from the scene and threatened to arrested anyone who will be caught filming or taking pictures.
Gen. Tumukunde has since been charged with treason.
He spent the night at Police CID headquarters in Kibuli where he recorded a statement and read to the charges before being transferred to special investigations unit (SIU) in Kireka where he is being detained.
