Tropical Bank Employee Murdered by Lover, Police Hunt for Suspect

Police have launched a man hunt for a man alleged to have murdered Tropical Bank of Africa employee.

Okot Calvin Andrew Philips  is believed to have killed Fahima Natoolo who was her girlfriend on Sunday morning.

The suspect, now on the run, was first reported by media as an employee of power distributors UMEME Ltd.

The company spokesperson Stephen Illungole however, clarified he has never worked with them

Okoth is said to have been working as a stores clerk in Kiwatule at HASO stores.

According to reports, Okoth had asked the deceased to spend a night with him at his home in Mbalwa Nabwojjo, a Kampala suburb.

Friends of the deceased posted a Missing Person announcement on Facebook indicating that she had last been seen with her boyfriend at Red i Bar in Lugogo UMA Showgrounds on Saturday.

According to reports, Okoth’s neighbor who allegedly witnessed the two fighting on Sunday morning gave directions to Natoolo’s family members who went with Police and upon breaking the door to his house, discovered the body in the house.

The body was found inside the house the following morning.

Police also impounded a vehicle of the murder suspect, a Toyota Progres Reg Number UAR 062F  which he reported abandoned at a health facility.
