A team of Police officers from Sexual and Gender Based Violence Unit are investigating a case in which a woman was sexually assaulted by a witch doctor.
This incident took place at a place called Mbale in Mpigi district and is the second to happen in the district this year.
According to Police, the victim, a 30-year-old woman from Nansana in Wakiso district visited a shrine of a one Isa Senyange for cleansing and healing.
“Senyange applied the herbs on his male organ and administered it to the victim in form of sexual intercourse,” Police said
The victim told police that, Senyange who is in custody, convinced her that sexual administration of the herbs was a form of treatment but when she eventually returned to Nansana, she started feeling pain which prompted her to report to Police.
Spokesperson Fred Enanga said that operatives immediately tracked the suspect and he was arrested.
” We strongly condemn such acts of sexual abuse against victims who seek services from herbalists,” Enanga said
“Police wants the fraternity of traditional herbalists to prevail over their members to eliminate such acts of abuse especially to female members who go to seek service.”
Recently, a traditional healer in Kamengo, Mpigi district was arrested over allegations that he raped two sisters and even impregnated them.
The suspect who was identified as Magambo Mulangira Musoga lured the victims into sex claiming it was a form of treatment.
