Top Radio journalist Richard Kasule was Monday morning arrested by police officers, said the coordinator for Human Rights Network for Journalists-Uganda (HRNJ-Uganda) Robert Ssempala.
According to Mr. Sssempala, the radio host, who is also known as Kamagu, was “whisked away to unknown place,” and this was “after presenting a morning show.”
The incident comes hot on the heels of a recent terrifying action by security agents who “abducted” New Vision Crime Reporter Charles Etukuri.
Etukuri is said to have been taken away by the agents for writing a story about the deaths of two European nationals at two different Kampala hotels. In the story, top security officials were connected to the murders.
The kidnappers and whereabouts of Etukuri, despite a habeas corpus being issued, are yet to be known.
It should be remembered that some of the Boda Boda 2010 members who were arrested by military agents recently were picked from Top Radio.
We are yet to find out the details of the arrest.
