The legal fraternity is mourning the death of top Kampala-based lawyer, Counsel Fredrick Sentomero of OSH Advocates.
The learned friend, who appeared healthy, on Friday collapsed and died after suffering a heart attack.
The manner in which Sentomero died left many in shock.
“I am here shocked by the sudden demise of a lawyer friend , Counsel Fredrick Sentomero of OSH Advocates,” said lawyer Mercy Kainobwisho.
“They say he just collapsed and died.”
Friends who have been informed about the details of the postmortem report say, the lawyer succumbed after a progressive blockage of the main artery that pumps the blood into the heart.
It’s understood Sentomero was not aware of this serious medical condition.
The medical term is Ischemic Heart Disease or Coronary Heart Disease (CHD).
This situation arises when your coronary arteries become narrowed by a gradual build-up of fatty material within their walls.
These arteries supply your heart muscle with oxygen-rich blood.
Over time, fatty material called atheroma can build up inside the walls of your arteries. This is known as atherosclerosis. If this build up happens in the arteries that supply your heart with blood, it is called coronary heart disease.
Eventually, your arteries may become so narrow because of this build up that they cannot deliver enough oxygen-rich blood to your heart.
The pain and discomfort you may feel as a result of this is called angina.
If a piece of atheroma breaks off it may cause a blood clot (blockage) to form. If it blocks your coronary artery and cuts off the supply of oxygen-rich blood to your heart muscle, your heart may become permanently damaged.
There are several factors that can increase the risk of developing CHD such as smoking, high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, diabetes, being physically inactive, being overweight or obese and family history of heart disease among others.
Some of the foods you can eat to clean your arteries include Asparagus, avacado, Broccoli, nuts, olive oil and water lemon.
The deceased was an expert in corporate transactions, Tax, Intellectual Property, Restructuring , Banking and Finance Law.
He mentored a number of lawyers . He was also a Rotarian from the Rotary Club of Muyenga, the largest Club in Uganda.
