Tooro United shift to Wankulukuku stadium

The Uganda Premier League secretariat has accepted Tooro United to shift their homeground to the Muteesa II stadium in Wankulukuku.

The team formerly based in Fort Portal at the Buhinga stadium became homeless last week after the government started construction works at the facility.

“We are in receipt of a letter from Tooro United FC indicating that Buhinga Stadium that has been their home ground is currently taken over by government for construction,” the UPL CEO Bernard Bainamani explained.

The team, previously known as Soana FC, hosted games at the Kavumba Recreation Centre before moving to Fort Portal at the beginning of this season.

“Tooro united FC requested to change their home ground to Muteesa II stadium- Wankulukuku, accordingly M#189 Tooro united Vs BUL FC has been approved to be played at Muteesa II Stadium -Wankulukuku 0n Tuesday 26th March 2019 at 4:30pm.”
Tooro United sit seventh on the league table with 33 points from 23 games.
